We love the timeless quality of a mantilla veil. Its delicate lace trim creates a sophisticated look that will provide you with classic photographs from your wedding day. However, deciding how to wear your mantilla can be an endeavor that many of us are perplexed by. Here are 3 simple, traditional and beautiful ways to wear a mantilla wedding veil on your big day!
• Place the mantilla at the top of your head.
This is undoubtedly the most traditional way to wear a mantilla. Wearing it in this way, allows the lace to gracefully draped over the shoulders, nicely framing the face. When wearing your mantilla this way, make sure the place the comb 2 inches back from the start of your hair line. Many of our brides have chosen to wear this look with our French Alencon Mantilla veil. This look works well with a mantilla of any length too!
• Place the mantilla at the crown of your head.
For a modern way to showcase your mantilla, place the mantilla at the crown of your head. This look still allows for draping over the shoulders but does not frame the face as much as the first look. With this look, you also have more styling flexibility and can opt for pins or a stylish comb to hold your mantilla in place. Also consider this look with a cathedral length mantilla with a blusher. Ours will give you a little volume and height for a look that is truly charming.
• Place the mantilla at the nape of your neck.
When you pair this style with one of our cathedral length mantillas, you will create a romantic, renaissance look! This look will also give you a desirable dramatic entrance if your ceremony location has a long aisle. This regal look can best be achieved by wearing your hair in a low side bun or by wearing your hair half up, half down. Because a cathedral length veil can be heavy and long, place the comb at the top of your hair style, not underneath.
We hope these 3 looks inspire you to wear a mantilla veil on your wedding day! It's bridal week in New York and we are so inspired by all the looks we've seen and can't wait to bring you more!
