3 Classic Ways to Place Your Mantilla Veil

The look of a mantilla veil is undoubtedly timeless. Its delicate lace trim creates a sophisticated look that will provide you with classic photographs from your wedding day. However, deciding how to wear your mantilla can be an endeavor that many of us are perplexed by.

When you order a veil from The Mantilla Company, there are many options to choose from. One of the options are choosing between having a blusher and not. Here are 3 simple, traditional and beautiful ways to wear a mantilla wedding veil without a blusher on your big day! (If you are interested in a blusher, click here.)

Place the mantilla at the top of your head.

traditional way to wear a mantilla veil

This is the most traditional way to wear a mantilla. Wearing it in this way, allows the lace to gracefully draped over the shoulders, nicely framing the face. When wearing your mantilla this way, make sure the place the comb 2 inches back from the start of your hair line. This is a great look for any lace mantilla veil. This look works well with a mantilla of any length too!

Place the mantilla at the crown of your head.

For a modern way to showcase your mantilla, place the mantilla at the crown of your head. This look still allows for draping over the shoulders but does not frame the face as much as the first look. With this look, you also have more styling flexibility and can opt for stylish hair pins or comb like this one. Just place them directly above the metal hair comb that is attached to the mantilla.

Place the mantilla at the nape of your neck.

When you pair this style with one of our cathedral length mantillas, you will create a romantic, renaissance look! It's also a great way to add just a few more inches of length to your veil. This look can best be achieved by wearing your hair in a low side bun or by wearing your hair half up, half down. If you choose this placement with a cathedral length veil, place the comb at the top of your hair style, not underneath to keep your veil from feeling heavy.

I hope these 3 looks inspire you to wear a mantilla veil on your wedding day! Need help finding the perfect veil? I'd love to help! Get my advice here.

About me: In 2010, while shopping for my bridal gown, I quickly realized that bridal stores had a very small selection (or none!) of lace mantilla veils. I ended up getting my veil from Spain and after all the compliments I received on my wedding day about my veil, I knew I had to bring these beautiful, authentic, quality, Spanish-made veils to brides in the US. My husband and I planned the whole business on the plane during our honeymoon! Today, we carry a large selection online of mantilla veils and have been featured in many bridal blogs and magazines. Read more about our story here.
